Worried that I’ve shared my address with a scammer / someone dodgy

I listed some kitchen items for free on facebook marketplace earlier. Someone reached out, and we agreed they would pick everything up at 4:30, but they never showed up. I had a work meeting at 5:15, so I told them I would leave the bag outside my front door. They said that was fine, but they still haven't turned up or said when they’re coming. I messaged them again at 6 to check if they still wanted the items, but I haven't received a reply. I checked her profile, and she only has 6 friends. It looks like she is married, and while the husband has photos, they are all of a child. I'm unsure if the profile is genuine or not. I'm not particularly concerned about being scammed for money or anything like that, but I did share my address with them and can’t delete the message now. Should I be worried? I live on my own fyi. Maybe I’m just being paranoid.

Also, does anyone know if they can use my address for something?

I think it's more likely that she's weird and flakey than a scammer. You can get addresses from anywhere, I don't think you need to worry.

Far more likely that she just didn't bother, than that she's trying some sort of scam. Your address is a public document anyway.

Loads of people never turn up for things on Facebook marketplace

Sebora · Today 18:45

That’s just the nature of marketplace unfortunately. I find it harder to give things away for free than to sell them!

what might help in future, what I do is give them the address but tell them I will give them the house number once they get here, it stops all and sundry having your address

lordbaddingham · Today 19:03

What do you think she can do with your address? She can see any address just walking up and down the street?

concertinacornflake · Today 19:09

I understand the fear, but really it's much more likely she's flaky.
Lots of people know your address and it's ok. There's no reason this person is more risky than any delivery driver, post person, receptionist, bank clerk etc.

dancingdeidre · Today 19:11

She's probably just flaky. Not unusual on Facebook.

Why would anyone need to waste time on marketplace to find out random addresses when the internet exists

I dont understand what you think could possibly be a scam
