AIBU to feel shaken by recent family murder cases? No one can be 100% safe in life

Are we just not safe anymore? Just read about that poor lady and her two daughters that were murderer by her husband and their dad?? What on earth?? I know we don’t know much but those girls probably idolised their dad… I’m sure the wife didn’t know he was going to murder her when she married him. To think that you think you know someone and they can commit the most heinous crime???

Reminds me of the case a couple years ago where that poor headteacher of the boarding school and herdaughter died at the hands of her husband (who then killed himself!)

utterly awful. Love my husband to pieces and I am 99.9% sure he is the most gentle soul but I guess I can’t be certain what he’s capable of!

Most murders are committed by someone the victim knows. Whether that’s domestic like this one, friends, gangs etc. the majority of murder victims know their killer

I know it’s very upsetting, but it’s not about being unsafe in the UK, crime is falling and has significantly decreased in the last 50 years.

In this case, it is likely to be a family destruction case.

The husband/father was probably a domestic abuser and when they split up he has killed his wife and children so that no other man can have them.

Similar situations are men killing their children to punish their mother, or killing themselves and their children so the mother is forever grief-stricken and she cannot get justice because he’s dead.

It is a form of coercive control and domestic abuse. I will be furious if the woman and her daughters were known to the police.

This murder is on him, not anyone else.

Ok here's the truth. I grew up as male on Bristols main docks. A little village. A very violent place. I've had mates seriously hurt, one murdered....but we have never lived in a safer time in history
