AIBU to hate the dubbing on Netflix?

I don’t know if it’s just me but I would much prefer subtitles to the dubbing, which is often quite wooden and the voices don’t suit the characters.

I prefer subtitles and don't mind dubbing but only if it's in the accent of the original country, like someone from that country talking English with their own accent so it at least sounds a bit authentic. I hate hearing a crap American accent when it's a Polish/French/whatever series. I agree that the voices often don't suit the characters!

Aren’t most things available with subs in the language they were made?

You can turn it off and go with the original sound track + subtitles.

I'm deaf and use subtitles for everything and usually turn off the dubbing as it doesn't match the subtitles (they get translated separately). The difference between the two makes it really hard to concentrate.

Just pause the show and click on "audio and subtitles" to change it.
