Will swimming soon after balayage affect the colour or make it fade?

I swim twice a week, I struggle wearing a swimming cap as I hate the way it feels.
I had balayage done on my hair on Thursday morning.
I plan to swim Monday morning & maybe Wednesday morning too as usual,

Will this cause problems for the recent colouring? I don’t want to balayage to fade too quickly.

What's the issue with the swimming cap? You do know you're supposed to wet your hair completely before putting the cap on? It's not really to keep your hair dry but to stop your hair absorbing the chlorine which it won't do if it's completely wet.

It will fade more. I've swum with expensive highlights and lowlights for years. The colour washes out and the bleach / lightness remains. I don't see it as a reason not to swim. I do use a swim cap but it always leaks

Comb this through damp hair and then braid your hair or pull it into a bun. It's not as effective as not swimming, but it does massively reduce the effects of chlorine.
