A number of influencers on instagram appear to be behind and congratulating the proposed social
media ban for under 16
I am confused as many of them have shared so much of their children’s lives for content and in ads.
is this not double standards?

As far as I'm aware there is no ban on adults sharing "content" of their own children.

Not all influencers are the same.

It’s not double standards, you obviously haven’t read the reasons for the ban which is why you’re confused and think it’s double standards

As far as I'm aware there is no ban on adults sharing "content" of their own children.

However yesterday the National Crime Agency advised all parents not to publicly share photos of their children online, as there has been a massive increase in the number of child sexual abuse images created by AI using normal images of children taken from the internet.
Will these influencers take heed of the warning?

It’s certainly hypocritical. Expressing concern about the effects of social media on young people whilst publicising details of your own children on social media in the hope of making some money. And no, hiding their face is not a mitigation. the sum of a child is more than just their face.
