AIBU to think taxes will keep rising to support public spending?

Not unreasonable at all. Taxes will definitely rise.

As I understand it there is talk of Britain having a sabbatical on giving foreign aid until things have stabilised here.

Whilst Labour are in Government, of course. Tax and spend your money is what they do. Always.

Taxes will rise and the black economy will grow. People will cut down their PAYE hours and use the extra time to work a cash in hand side hustle. Self employed people will simply increase their tax deductible business expenses and pass the rise back to the tax man. When taxes rise people simply change their behaviour and adapt.
