I was in two minds about starting this thread as was a bit worried it might come over a bit ‘not like other girls’ (although am hardly a girl) but I wonder from time to time if I’m the only one who just can’t stand these things? Necklaces, earrings and bracelets just irritate the shit out of me; sunglasses rub my face and I can’t see and bags slip off your shoulder and you have to rummage through them. Obviously when my children were babies and even now the youngest is three I do need a bag with wipes, change of clothes etc but if I can get away with it I do.

I think they look really nice and sometimes even buy them but then never use them!

I love jewellery, handbags and sun glasses, I enjoy buying them, choosing what to put with different outfits etc, I swear, I cannot wear clothes that are tight on my neck and wrists, I hate feeling 'bundled up' in the winter and really dislike tights and socks, I suppose we are all just different.😀

I'm the same, OP. I love clothes and try to be stylish but jewellery and accessories have never worked for me.

I honestly think it must be because I'm very slightly autistic (I can hear the groans and see the eye-rolling already!) but seriously, my daughter is and, having learned about her issues, I can see that my dislike of things dangling round my neck and from my ears, or balancing on my nose for long periods, may be connected to the sensory issues she has.

I buy earrings and necklaces and I put them on...then I take them off before I go out because I just can't be doing with the feel of them, the movement, the clanking etc etc. I so wish I didn't feel like that, but when I see women with lots of jewellery, I think 'That looks so glam', and then immediately after 'How do they stand all that stuff clinking and moving?'

I wish it wasn't so.

No, can’t really be bothered with any of that.

Only jewellery I wear is my engagement and wedding rings (which I love! I never take them off).

I carry a tote bag if necessary on a day out, or a rucksack for walking, but I don’t actually own a purse of any sort. 😂

Sunglasses I do actually wear because protecting my eyes from the sun is important, but they aren’t anything fancy. I think they came from the M&S in Waterloo.

I’m a very utilitarian person. I don’t buy stuff I don’t need.

I can't see how anyone can call you unreasonable. It's a personal choice, which you are totally entitled to have. I do quite often carry a bag out of necessity but if I can get away with it, I don't. I wear earrings but very little other jewellery, I don't even routinely wear my wedding ring (it's too big at the moment but that's not the reason, I just don't really like wearing rings). I sometimes, rarely, wear a necklace. I like the stacks on other people, but don't want to wear one myself.
I also wear minimal or no make up.
I'm happy with my choices. I don't need to be told that there are ways to make doing these things easier. If people want to do this stuff, good for them. But I have my own choices.

I never wear jewellery other than my wedding ring because I can't be arsed choosing any. I hardly ever wear sunglasses because I try really hard to hold on to them but I put them down in the house or the car or anywhere and they slip behind things and vanish.

I usually carry a bag because I don't like not having a book with me at all times. Always a cross-body one. I couldn't be doing with a tote or a classic handbag.

But I don't think this makes me at all unusual or interesting.

I would possibly give up one of the pets before getting rid of my prescription shades. I am very sensitive to light and wear them year round. I just could not cope without them and when wearing contacts normal sunnies over them too.

Im a minimal jewellery person, I have a very light bracelet and necklace on me at all times as in I sleep and shower with them on although of course occasionally take them off for a sauna or something and I wear a pair of studs in my ears but thats it. I can't wear rings so just as well I have none to wear.

Handbags are a pain to me too so I wear a cross body one for practical reasons like the case for my sunnies or my regular glasses, phone, kindle, dog poo bags and a bag for life for nipping to a shop. Back in the day I had a huge collection of handbags for every occasion though.
