To expect Clinique to be competent?

I ordered a couple of items from Clinique online, and was pleased to be offered both a new customer discount and two worthwhile free gifts.
Nothing arrived, despite a dispatch notification. When I contacted customer services I as told "We have no control over our warehouse" and that I must wait another 10 days.

Eventually, they agreed to cancel and redispatch.

Now I've checked TrustPilot, I see they have dreadful reviews. I usually do check before buying from a new supplier, but foolishly assumed they would be competent. I like their cleanser, one of the few that doesn't irritate my skin after prolonged use, but I will never buy direct again.

I’ve never had an issue buying from them direct, I do shop around though and occasionally use Boots or JL or whoever offers a GWP.

I've alwasy found them good. Always an extra freebie. Something was missing once and they replaced with next day delivery

I hope your experience is the norm and mine an exception.
