Posting for traffic - am going to an event in Peckham Rye and wanting to stay in a hotel the night before - any recommendations please - am happy to travel half an hour to get to the show

peckham rye is on the overground that goes up to Blackfriars, you could stay somewhere central and travel to Peckham by train for the event? What budget do you have?

durdledoris · 29/06/2026 21:25

Budget is about £150

As well as Blackfriars, London Bridge is an option or there's a Travelodge in Peckham itself which would undoubtedly be cheaper

likelysuspect · 29/06/2026 21:35

The Travellodge in Peckham is fine

likelysuspect · 29/06/2026 21:36

Are you going to the Lost Estate?

bigTillyMint · 29/06/2026 21:47

The Travelodge on Peckham High St?More upmarket, the Victoria Inn on Choumert Rd has rooms and is walking distance.
Peckham Rye station is also on lines straight to London Bridge and Victoria

Look at Hotels Borough High Street, Elephant and Castle, Tower Bridge. All a bus ride away.

I know someone who has stayed here:

Was going to suggest this. Dulwich is a beautiful area to stay.

Absolutely! I had just left school and needed a summer job. I lived on Denmark Hill. Bought the South London Press, saw a job advertised, called, they said come over for an interview. 2 hours later had a summer job, which then became a career. It was that easy then!

Thanks Graham and Gill, the landlords then!

Probably the best night you'll ever have. Have lots of the cocktails, they're out of this world

What are you wearing?

Dexternight · 29/06/2026 22:15

It is the best place you will have a fantastic time.

bigTillyMint · 30/06/2026 07:46

Aha that event is on Rye Lane (not on Peckham Rye!) and is very close to PR station so staying somewhere central would be very easy to get to.
The Victoria Inn a short walk away or the Crown and Greyhound in the village (cab easier than bus!) would also be a good fit for the type of evening!
