DH taking recycling boxes from garage through house. "Oh look a mouse". Puts box down. (WATF). Mouse jumps out runs into living room, currently hiding under MY chair. Dog going berserk. I'm going to have to move aren't I?

Oh blimey! Bet it’s so scared. I know you are.
We had a field mouse in a holiday cottage once. DH tried to catch it with a child’s fishing net much to our girls amusement who laughed til they cried. It kept putting in appearances throughout the week.
We had collies at the time who just sat looking and watching for it.
Owners were so apologetic and gave us a free weekend stay!
Good luck. Guess your garage needs checking.

You must set fire to your house and garage. Leave your husband. Move to a new country. There is no other option, sorry.

Get yourself down to B&M asap to buy some;

  • fishing nets
  • double sided cellotape (to put everywhere in lounge so the mouse sticks to it when it runs across it)
  • a small plastic box you can put cheese in to tempt it out, flashlights so you can watch for it tonight (cos I doubt you'll get any sleep knowing they can climb stairs and get under doors!)
-Some popcorn for the kids to eat while they watch you and HD run around trying to catch it. -Post it notes to stick on your front door explaining why the neighbours are hearing you all shouting/screaming/laughing hard enough to pee!

Sounds like it'll be a fun night at your house ! 😂😱

Yep.

Was coming on to say torch the house.

Cheap old fashioned mouse traps are best. Tom & Jerry style. Leave a couple in the room overnight.

You need to place a shoe or a boot by the chair. Mr Mouse should make his way into it. Then you put the shoe into a box and take it far, far away.

Just an update for you, thanks for your comments.

Set loads of traps yesterday and nothing, tried to relax, keep all doors shut etc.
This morning traps still empty but a clatter later this morning meant it was trapped. DH sent off to release into the wild miles away.
Traps reset in garage.
Recycling boxes DO NOT come through the house EVER AGAIN!!!
