AIBU to book another lash technician after my friend cancelled?

Long-standing friend who is also my lash technician (we don't socialise a lot due to busy lives but we're good enough friends for her to be coming on holiday with a group of us in September for my 40th)

Currently have about 5 lashes on each eye left as it's been a while since my last appointment! She cancelled my appointment last week due to the heat - I know this was genuine as there were issues with the glue only sticking up to a certain temperature and other lash techs did the same. She said she'd bought some more suitable glue and would rearrange.

Thing is because more time has passed I'm going to need a longer appt and she only has 30min slots left between now and next week - I'm going on holiday so need them done by then. I've contacted her to see if I can be squeezed in but she's not replied.

Think I'm going to have to book a full set with someone new but then I feel I'm being disloyal or whatever to my friend! Would you contact her again first and explain or just wait until she gets in touch!? She does have form for being flaky...

She’s a long standing friend? A true friend or a mumsnet kind of friend?
drop her a line updating as to why you’ll go elsewhere for this one app
she will surely likely message “what about trying xyz… she’s good” or along those lines?

I wouldn't bat an eyelid
