I'm recently widowed and have booked to see Duran Duran by myself in October. I'm a bit scared but also stupidly excited. I wanted to go and see them when I was 16 but couldn't get tickets. Now here I am, a mere 40 years later!

I’m so sorry for your loss .

Just been watching bits of their Belfast gig on Instagram and it looked wonderful, very joyous. I've been to gigs by myself when it has been a band or singer nobody else i know is into and its always been a good experience because you are with fellow fans.

Brilliant op! I’m glad you did it and had fun

im going to the the system of a down concert next week (or week after) alone

my husband wanted to come but we couldn’t get a babysitter and the tickets were mega pricy so he got me one and I’m gonna go myself

I’m so excited 😆

Good for you! I often want to do this but I’m a bit far from the larger cities which have the gigs (and don’t want to get a late night train alone)
did the twilight sad support?

Carriemac · 02/07/2026 22:05

Yeah , caught the end of Twilight they sounded good although im
not familiar with their music

I did it once because my friend dropped out. Hated the thought. Honestly had the best , inhibited time. I've been to many since and definitely prefer solo gigs I'm glad youve discovered the secret ;)

Thanks Maddy I feel weirdly proud of myself
