Its 34c and all I have listened to for the last 3 hours is screeching

I don’t have anything helpful to say but the title did make me laugh.

Savethephoto · 25/06/2026 19:35

Get the gun,, Elmer

Mostlywilliow · 25/06/2026 19:36

I know. I’ve told him to button it or the router goes missing again. I love him but he’s a gobshite.

KilkennyCats · 25/06/2026 19:38

Get the hosepipe out to water your garden and accidentally give him a good soaking.

OneFirmWasp · 25/06/2026 19:38

Nothing unusual about 34c. He was being unreasonable :)

Portmore · 25/06/2026 19:56

Same here. They've been out in the garden since about 3 & literally screaming non stop.
Absolutely they should be outside playing & enjoying themselves but this is just constant screaming & shrieking. It doesn't even sound like they are having fun - sounds like they are hot, irritable & hyperactive

No parents out there with them. Would have thought they would keep an eye on the noise with all neighbors windows open or at least keep an eye on the kids getting increasingly hyperactive & irritable.

Another neighbor has a young baby & toddler that will be trying to sleep. There's not really an option of keeping windows closed in this heat.

Zanatdy · 25/06/2026 19:58

Why do parents allow this? Mine were always brought in if making too much noise. Constant screaming they’d be straight in.

Hollowvoice · 25/06/2026 20:05

Luckily next door have been mostly inside this week because I genuinely don't understand how they moved here 3 years ago when their youngest was 5 and the youngest still sounds like a whiny 5 year old

SaltCave · 25/06/2026 20:09

I Recently had neighbours move in the one bed flat above me with an annoying toddler that screams all day, doesn’t go to nursery, they rarely take him out, let him ride cars up and down on the ceiling all day, throws things, jumps up and down, doesn’t sleep till 11/12pm but apparently can’t complain cos it’s a kid (not officially just vented on here once and got “but it’s a kid” 🙄) it’s up to the parents to not allow this behaviour

I don't know how it doesn't bother the parents, they can hear it too!

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 25/06/2026 20:21

I have about 10 of them here. I've heard them speaking quietly among themselves in English before, so I know they are capable of it, but ordinarily it's hour after hour of 100db screeching, screaming, and shrieking at the equally as noisy peer standing no more than a few feet away.

My arse would have been stinging had I made a tenth of the noise this lot do, but seemingly it's just normal child behaviour now.

I think they filter it out so they don’t notice anymore. Like if you live on a flight path you get used to the plane noise

MadisonAvenue · 25/06/2026 20:23

Same here, they’ve been outside since 4ish and are still screeching now, 4+ hours later.

Scousefab1 · 25/06/2026 20:25

Crank your music up and when they ask you to turn it down so little cherubs can sleep. Tell them next time turn your kid down otherwise this will happen all the time.

AbsoluteHoot · 25/06/2026 20:27

Our lovely neighbours have their 2 grandsons after school and both are screechy little bastards. I can’t say anything but I do fantasise about giving them both a slap*

*I’ve never so much as tapped anyone in my life, ever.

So sums up how I feel. I worked near a primary school for a while first play time I'm in the van grabbing a hammer because I thought there was a attack on the school. When I was that age the teachers would blow a whistle and stop us all playing to say screaming means you're hurt

HelpMeGetThrough · 26/06/2026 08:13

We have a screaming dickhead 2 doors up.

Father told her twice the other day to shut up, she didn’t. Third time I heard “if you don’t belt up, I’ll bloody well give you something to scream about”. That shut her up.

Sorted!!

LittleRobins · 26/06/2026 08:30

I still prefer screechy kids noise to yappy dogs and blaring music
