I had one yesterday for the first time in at least 20 years.

I loved Zooms back in the day. Also Strawberry Mivis. Nobbly Bobblys are awesome!

A lot of shops sell zoom-like lollies, often called ‘Rocket’.

susiedaisy1912 · 25/06/2026 22:08

Nobbly Bobblys are one of my favourites

VerityUnreasonble · 25/06/2026 22:10

DH has a weird hatered of Fab lollys, however this means I can buy them and there will always be delicious Fabs for me.

YANBU. They are an elite ice lolly.
I like a toffee crumble ice lolly too!

I was literally coming on to say! The best ice lolly

AliMonkey · 25/06/2026 22:14

Fabs are probably the worst - who thought mixing ice lolly and chocolate coating was a good idea? Whites lemonade lollies are best but I’ll happily have a Twister or a Sainsbury’s Fruit Spiral.

Murfmeister · 25/06/2026 22:56

Mini Milks for me. Bloody loved those things.

Anyone remember those large triangular ices that you had to snip the corner off with a pair of scissors and they seem to last for ages? No idea what they were called.

Round my way, they were Jubilees...but we pronounced them 'Jooblies'.

Yiayoula · 25/06/2026 23:06

“ Jubblies” here in the South West.

Jubly's. Something like that.So much bigger when I was a child decades ago. I had to stop buying mini callipos because I was eating two a night, before the heatwave. I do like an own brand Cornetto though.

I have found my people!

Not sure what they were called but a swirly pattern lolly that tasted of fudge!

Also, black forest cornetto (in the 90’s)!

Was it a zap? Loved them but could never quite place the flavour!

Nah Nobbly Bobbly is superior, I always find fab disappointing.

I quite agree , but sadly as a Nobbly Bobbly connoissuer i can confidently say they just aren't as good as they once were.
Regarding Fab , the strawberry part is extremely disappointing ,raspberry would be so much better.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 25/06/2026 23:18

They are wonderful but who could possibly disagree?

Silvercoconut · 25/06/2026 23:20

In 1976, my favourites were Mivvis and a lemon sparkle 🤣

It was a clear stroke of genius! Like a chocolate dipped strawberry (although I doubt there's much actual chocolate involved in the Fab).

I did used to like a White's lemonade lolly, but do they have artificial sweetener now? It's ruined the lemonade for me 🙁

Zaap! Loved them more than anything & think of them every time a thread like this pops up!

We called them sun lollies I think

jalopy · 26/06/2026 17:23

Yes, a Jubbly! Well remembered!

Pizaz!

Aaaaaaaaawwwwwww · 26/06/2026 19:22

Oh yes. Sorry. A zap. Wtf was a pizaz?

saltnpepperchips · 26/06/2026 19:28

Here in Liverpool we call them “lolly ices” and anyone who says “ice lolly” is deemed as posh 🤣

Big fan of calippos here and also apple ciders from the ice cream man. Funny feet were amazing. I used to order a screwball from the ice cream van as a kid as my mum wouldn’t let me have chewy and she hadn’t realised there was a chewy at the bottom. It was horrible though ice cold and lost its flavour in minutes!

I'm pleased to see the majority of the vote went the right way.

The other 25% of you should be banned from the frozen food aisle.
