AIBU to think disposable BBQs should be banned

A few years ago, supermarkets (including my previous employer) and a few other shops stopped selling disposable BBQs due to the excess heat and dry weather.

I have not heard of any retailer doing this yet.

Disposable BBQs should be banned as
. Makes people BBQ anywhere. There are no parks in Leicestershire that allows them now
. Massive fire hazard
. Damages the grass etc
. On beaches, people bury the finished BBQs in the sand. Then some poor person or child gets badly burnt foot/feet

YABU.

If they are used responsibly they are perfectly safe. Punish the idiots who misuse them.

I would ban them for being crap at cooking your food. Not hot enough, don't last long enough. Can barely smash out a pack of sausages, let alone a steak or something decent.

The other stuff is a risk with most cooking outside, and I wouldn't want to ban that.

Bloody hell, are they still allowed?

We can only hope that the inevitable food poisoning that comes after using them kills off the loons that think littering beaches and starting forest fires are acceptable by-products of these revolting trays of gunk.

Why can’t people just buy (or make!) a sandwich?

A one use item like this is irresponsible by its nature, meaning truly responsible people wouldn’t use one. If you’re happy to use one, there’s a much higher chance you’re happy to dispose of one irresponsibly.
