Feeling like I’ve no time for older child

By the time I’ve got my two year old bathed, read stories and into bed I’m drained and I feel like I’ve no time or patience for my older child. I feel so bad … can anyone relate?

I feel bad for your older child, I hope they won’t realise they’re the second favourite :/

Awful comment

Yep! My youngest is almost 2 and is full of energy doesn't want to nap anymore and by the time I've done everything I need to do for her and shes finally asleep I'm so tired I just sit down and put the TV on, my other children are luckily much older but I feel like I have no energy to interact with them much my oldest is 17 and understands how tired I am and actually tries to help but obviously I don't really want her helping much as she's my responsibility, my other 2 children are 12 and 9 and tend to keep themselves entertained but I do feel guilty at times for not giving them as much attention as I feel I should, I know it will get more balanced eventually but toddlers do demand a lot of attention purely because of their ages.

What 😂
Being tired after a full day of parenting and wrestling with a toddler doesn't equate to having a favourite kid... You made an extreme illogical leap.

How old is the eldest? Could you change routine around a bit to have time with the eldest? Is there anyone who can help taking care of the youngest?

😂 thought that was aimed at me. No favourites but I do obviously worry that that’s what they think …hopefully not

Hi @summertimeicecream ignore that first comment.

I have DD 11 and twins aged 8 so at one point, 5 and 2 x 2yos.

I had exactly the feeling you have and some smug arsehole on here told me to "do better".

Honestly it will pass and although I know some on here will get snarky about this, I was pretty honest with DD1 - Mummy loves you, so much, but I'm so tired right now, let's do something gentle together.

When the younger one gets older it'lm even out more.

Thank you so much for such a lovely reply and twins are quite something else!
