Any experience of ‘Mystery Holiday’

Saw a very cheap offer for a holiday at an unknown location. Seems like a terrible idea, but I’m sort of tempted?! I like surprises (good surprises).
It says it could be Spain, USA, Canaries, Italy, UK etc.
knowing my luck I’d be spending a week in the holiday inn near Gatwick airport.
I’ve heard of people booking a mystery hotel (but aware it will be a 4*) but they know the city it will be in. Would anyone go for this?

I know someone who did one and ended up in Poland. They said between flight times and transfer to their Hotel etc they got very little actual holiday.

No way. Too vague. Anywhere that mentions USA and UK as possible destinations (widely different budgets) is going to dump you in Blackpool in a B and B.

Not quite, but last year I was on a flight that taxied out and then was cancelled before take off!! DD and I found ourselves at Gatwick with packed cases and no holiday plans, so we went online and booked a holiday to Crete that departed just 4 hours later!!

It was stressful but kind of fun 🤣

If it's very cheap, it's going to be rubbish. Why would they sell a beautiful location as a cheap mystery holiday?
