AIBU to find drippy skincare serum adverts really off putting

I keep seeing so many adverts for skincare where they put loads of serum on using a pipete(?) and it sort of just dribbles down their face or they are tapping it on and it’s all gloopy.

is this supposed to be increasing sales because it absolutely gives me the ick!

There was another thread about this a wee while ago. Somebody was asking why all these influencer women applied serums like that.

I think some one said it's supposed to have sexual connotations.

I 've not seen the adverts or the influencers but I do use retinol serum. But I put a few drops on my hand and apply it to my face that way. I'm obviously doing it wrongly but at least my way isn't messy.

I agree. Plus I think ideally you don’t touch the pipette thingy to skin.

You are being unreasonable for using the "word" "ick".

They make me anxious. I have to fight the urge to lean forward and put my hand out to stop the jizz-like dribbles dripping off their chins.
