AIBU to worry after accepted offer but viewings continue?

Looking for opinions as I can’t be objective.
We put our house on the market and it sold really quickly. Stupidly thought that would have been the stressful part over, but oh how wrong we were.
We’ve made offers on 2 empty properties, not at the same time, but they were ex rental properties, ideal as no chains, but needing work to make liveable. We even went above asking price, but were rejected. Finally had an offer accepted, sent over the AML documents and had to pay £50 each for a further AML check the estate agent does, only to be called by the estate agents to say that the vendor still wants viewings to continue on the property! I’m in 2 minds as if the vendor is playing games this early on in the process, is he going to delay throughout/ as for extra knowing he has us? Or look elsewhere? I really like the house but as I said, it does need work.

Sounds like they’re keeping their options open. If you proceed make sure to take out insurance in case you spend a lot of money and it all falls through. Not a good start to a trust based relationship!

Yeh this happened to us. They got a higher offer and pulled out. Didn’t even phone to tell us, we though the house was ours until we got a letter in the post

You can ask for the property to be taken off the market as a condition of your offer. We did this - took a lot the of stress out of it!

We left our house on the market until we exchanged as the sale fell through twice. Our vendor also left his property on the market until our purchase of it exchanged.
