Aarrgh. We took the kids paddling pool down last weekend and there’s a brown patch of grass where the middle was. It’s only been up for two weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️
problem is the landlord is doing an inspection next week. How can I get this patch back to life?!

The only way you'll fix it quickly is by buying a few rolls of turf. Shouldn't cost you too much.

Can't you just put it back up for the inspection to cover it?

Striveforcompetence · 14/06/2026 18:33

Put the paddling pool back up to cover it during the inspection? Then fix it after with grass seed.

stiffasanironingboard · 14/06/2026 18:33

Would a landlord honestly charge for this? It’ll grow back…

I mean failing that I would just put the paddling pool back up to cover it!

Put the pool back up over the patch for now and then start to rotate it around the garden to restore the area and don't leave it in one place for too long. Grass seed the brown area, but do it properly - cultivate the ground, water it properly, etc.

Grass seed, and water it’s only grass, it’s forever changing, there’s no permanent damage, don’t worry

Who takes a paddling pool down at start of June? The nice weather only just starting 🤪

oliviaAustin · 14/06/2026 19:23

Don’t worry about it. Tell him you’ve put some grass seed down and that it’ll grow back

Simple but brilliant. Or lay out a picnic rug or two.

DandelionClockSeeds · 14/06/2026 19:34

Put paddling pool back up for inspection.

Move pools soon as inspection is over.
Water the grass. It will green back up soon.

I'm a landlord. I wouldn't care. Grass grows back.

This. I am not a landlord but I do run holiday lets. This happens. Grass grows. No problem at all.

we have lovely big marks today from a blow up football net. It will be grown in a few days.

Water it, chuck some nitrogen fertiliser and some seaweed on it, water it in and it will be green by next week.
