Cleaner has lost my key

My lovely cleaner has texted me today to say she’s lost my house key somewhere since she was here on Thursday. We’ve had a good look outside to see if she’s dropped them between the door and her car - nothing.

Im not sure what to do next to be honest? If they don’t show up should I get the lock changed? It’s an expense I could do without this month. Should I contact the agency, would their insurance cover this?

She’s going to phone me tomorrow so I’ll ask her then

Personally I’d text her now so that you can sleep better tonight if she says there’s no identifying details on the fob. And you could also consider what you plan to do (say it’s fine, ask about getting the locks changed etc) before you speak to her tomorrow.

I think it would be risky to leave it (particularly overnight) if your full name and address is on the keys.

This is correct, you just need to unscrew the barrel from the side and make sure to buy the same length! About a tenner depending on level of security.

Edited

This is screwfix but they all do them

I would change the locks. She may be a nice cleaner but it doesn’t mean all the people she knows are nice. And someone might know precisely whose house the key belongs to.
You can lose a key. But you also have to consider if a key has been stolen.
