To be emotionally attached to a car

I know I’m probably being unreasonable but my husband is thinking of changing his car. We’ve had lots of road trips and fun with it and it’s more of a lifestyle car. I really don’t like the car he’s thinking of swapping it for and have said so. Third world problem I know but I’m genuinely upset that this car and lifestyle may be changing. I also think I’m also possibly bordering being controlling which I hate. Has anyone else become very emotionally attached to a car. For context no deal has been done but the thought of it possibly going is upsetting.

I’m absolutely dreading the day my car needs replacing as there isn’t a single new car on the market that I like. He’s an 18 year old Smart ForTwo convertible, as basic as they come but enormous fun to drive. We’re off on another camping adventure next weekend. Hopefully I’ll have quite a few more years yet as he’s only done 28k miles.

Not unreasonable at all. A couple of mine have had to be collected for scrap and I couldn't watch.
