To ask your recommendation for reasonably priced specs?

I’ve got back from holiday and my specs are nowhere to be found. I couldn’t locate them on the last day before the flight but assumed I might have put them in the case, but apparently not.

I can’t afford £500 on a new pair at the moment; does anyone have any recommendations for a decent but reasonably priced pair to tide me over at the very least until I can spend a bit on a more expensive pair?

There are loads of online ones if you have your prescription

I lose/break glasses so always buy a few pairs

Have used Selectspecs, glasses direct and goggles4u before - all were good

Do you have your prescription? I always buy from here and always been happy: https://www.speckyfoureyes.com/

Thank you! I do have a prescription from about 8 months ago.

I can't stand specsavers. 2 different stores and 1yr apart I've had dreadful 'service'. 1 shop replaced my frames with the exact same strength of lens and refused to test them when I queried that my vision wasn't improved. The other shop I felt like cattle on a conveyor and they kept asking me to take up a monthly subscription for contacts- despite me only using them once a month.

Anyways, I recently tried asda. 2 pairs of varifocals (or 1 glasses and 1 sunglasses), with anti glare and all the things that specsavers add on, worked out £400 cheaper than what specsavers quoted! If you don't need 2 pairs though, maybe try somewhere online.

Specs4less are brilliant and a very easy website to use.

Asda opticians are cheap and a decent selection.

Asda Opticians. I get my varifocals from
there and they do 2 pairs from £120. I think they are one of the only opticians that don’t charge extra for varifocals vs single lense. My last purchase from there was a few months ago and I paid £150 for 2 pairs, but you can buy just one pair.

I used to get them from Boots but spending £400 on a pair each was becoming ridiculous.
