I saw Richard Branson talking about how it failed and it unlocked a memory!

I don't recall drinking it tbh, but i do remember the branding

Do you remember it disappearing?

I thought it was ok!

nomas · 05/06/2026 21:40

Yes, I drank it, I remember the bottles because they were apparently modelled on Pamela Anderson’s body.

It faded into obscurity so I think the only ones who would remember when they disappeared would be people who work in the bevvy industry.

followtheswallow · 05/06/2026 21:42

I do. I used to buy it sometimes. I remember it because it randomly appeared on a TV show I was re watching not so long ago.

forceofhabitandnotneed · 05/06/2026 21:58

I only ever drank it.on Virgin Trains because it was all they had available in the cola line. It was pretty insipid as I recall - rather like draught Coke/Pepsi when the syrup/soda balance is out of whack.

TotallyBogusYeah · 05/06/2026 22:00

Oh god I’d forgotten all about Virgin cola - it was vile as I recall???

TofuEater · 05/06/2026 22:01

It was sold in loads of places in Hammersmith (home of Virgin HQ) and I lived there in the 1990s so drank it by default. Colas as taste the same to me though

tinyladybird · 05/06/2026 22:07

I remember it used to come in little bottles smaller than a standard coke can. It was alright from what I can remember.. Just that typical non coke/Pepsi cheap cola flavour

Ethelspagetti · 05/06/2026 22:12

Think I had it once on a train, it tasted very cheap. Not surprised it failed.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 05/06/2026 22:19

Drank it occasionally in the 90s. It tasted like Rola Cola (cheap and flat).

TheLightBetween · 05/06/2026 22:21

I've still got an unopened bottle 😂 long story.

Charlottejbt · 05/06/2026 22:24

I tried it back in the day but it didn't make much of an impression on me. It was OK.

Blockbuster cola, however, was fantastic.

SidekickSylvia · 05/06/2026 22:26

I didn't like it, it was weak and flat. Unusual for a Virgin product to fail, is it the only one?

ohyesido · 05/06/2026 22:27

It was very thin and watery with high levels of aspartame as I recall

Missymarple · 05/06/2026 22:27

I remember being on a Virgin train from Glasgow to London in the late 90s when the air con failed and the train was absolutely cooking. They offered us a free soft drink and it was Virgin coke that we were given. It tasted pretty hideous but I assumed that was just due to the can being hotter than the sun.

SamAylward · 06/06/2026 08:22

Only once and I did not finish it.

One of the vilest tasting things I have ever drunk.

GenerousGardener · 06/06/2026 08:27

On my fridge right now.

Virgin Vie failed too

MsRinky · 06/06/2026 09:52

I bought a can out of a vending machine in Leeds once and won two weekend tickets to the V Festival, which was ace.

NimbleHiker · 06/06/2026 13:24

I tried it back in the day and it was vile. Tap water had more taste.
