I've lost my wedding rings and I'm devastated. AIBU to ask you for your help finding them? Has anyone done this and miraculously found them? Where did you find them?

I was wearing them at work on Saturday, but by the time I was back in work on Tuesday they were gone, so I must have lost them on my days off. They weren't with my engagement ring on the top of the coffee machine (I know, I need to stop putting my rings in random places).

Where should I look? Where have you found your missing jewellery before? Are there any psychics who can help me?! I'm so upset, and so is my husband. Please help!

I’ve found things in coat/ jean pockets. I know you’ve probably tried to retrace steps but I would look in drawers too in case you were in the middle of taking them off and you’ve maybe just set them down accidentally.

Could they have fallen off or are you certain you’ve put them down somewhere? I’ve found a ring on top of my microwave before - think I was heating up a heat bag before bed, took my ring off (???) and then never picked it up again - had a proper panic the next day when it wasn’t by my bed!

Do you have cats who might have knocked them off a surface, look behind/around stuff where they climb if so.

When my ds was a toddler, he had a habit of putting "precious" things in shoes, on the rack.

I tore my house to shreds nearly when I lost my keys. I was devastated because there were a couple of really important keys on them. I knew they were definitely in the house. I eventually found them in the fridge. Yes the fridge. So look in some unusual places because you never know that's where they could be

I found my eternity ring at the bottom
of the laundry basket. It had fallen from the back pocket of my jean (i know i know 🙄) so
have a look there.

Thank you guys so much for your help! I don't have cats but I do have a toddler who's obsessed with drawers atm (and taking things out of them) so these are all great suggestions. And I'll definitely check all of the shoes!

Why would you normally take them off, and when. Is it to wash up, or wash your hands, or at bedtime? Have a look all the sinks in the house, and by your bed.

I suppose a metal detector would not be of use, unless there is a good chance they are outside?
(My mother used to hold her engagement ring between her lips when washing her hands in a public loo.)

I've currently lost a ring that I think is under the fridge but I really can't be faffed with moving the fridge to find out. It's a ring with huge sentimental value but not my wedding, engagement or eternity rings, I'vecnever taken them off since they were put on.

i agree, check shoes.

a toddler you say? See also:
Play kitchen sink/cupboard
under pillow
in play-pushchair
on any small teddies arms/feet
any dress up bags.

in your purse/wallet? Wherever you leave your car keys? On top of the air fryer or microwave?

I lost my wedding ring for some time and found it underneath a rug.

Look behind the loo, too. Bear in mind they can roll a long way once they set off, so look in far-flung corners.
