Promoted as family friendly in Weston-super-Mare. Beautifully Proud. A cartoon style picture with bondage gear, mastectomy scars, a character in a low cut dress with another character touching their breasts. This has gone too far now.

You are seeing a hell of a lot in that picture that isn't there, which reveals an awful lot about you.

Nobody is 'touching their breasts' in that picture. It's a person with their arms folded. I don't think those are 'mastectomy scars' either. I think they're just the lines of the pecs.

That 'bondage gear' is clearly not being worn in any sexual context. It's just a leather accessory FFS. It's an aesthetic, that's all.

There's nothing there that's obscene or inappropriate and I think you'd have to be quite a prurient kind of person to think there is.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 04/06/2026 11:55

You might need to get your sight checked as you seem to be seeing an awful lot in that pic that really isn't there.

Ablondiebutagoody · 04/06/2026 11:56

Kinky

ZippyPeer · 04/06/2026 11:57

Agreed with first poster - it took me a while to find what you were even referencing as I didn't see bondage gear, fondling or scars (looks like tattoos to me)

TheKittenswithMittens · 04/06/2026 12:05

I like the cartoon gay guy with the beard. They are known as "bears" I believe. They are usually really sweet.

Gladystheimpaler · 04/06/2026 12:06

It's cute and fun to me. Don't go to pride if you don't want to see some leather, just like you shouldn't go to church if you don't want to see a man crucified. You have free will and choice, which is part of what pride celebrates, so use it!

UniquePinkSwan · 04/06/2026 12:09

You are being ridiculous

Indeed - it surprises me that people get up in arms about this stuff when they are still calling churches showing brutal depictions of a man being slaughtered 'family spaces'.

Here is the graphic causing such distress for OP.

If they are like that, count me in.

Ethellee · 04/06/2026 12:19

If you don’t like it OP, don’t engage with it. When this page gets tens of thousands of extra views, that gives the person in the role of “equality officer” the support to fight from more of the council’s very limited resources.

If you don’t give things air, they die out.

I was looking and couldn't see what OP meant.

Would you say the same thing about the grown-ups in the same leather bondage gear who also wear rubber dog masks? And of course, they let children 'pet' them?

Oh gosh - can't wait!

Peonies12 · 04/06/2026 12:28

I can't see any of that. easy solution for you - don't attend if you don't want to.

Well...that's a completely different thing isn't it?

This - am I looking at a different picture?!
Bondage gear, fetishes and mastectomy scars? Where? You're adding an awful lot of stuff that really isn't there so for that YABU.
Don't know what I was expecting after your description, I clicked with a bit of trepidation as even though it seemed a legit link, didn't know what to expect!

Shedmistress · 04/06/2026 12:29

If people cannot see the person with the low cut dress with someone behind them feeling up their breast, then specsavers maybe the answer?
Maybe they are the sort of people that enjoy a good boundary crossing? Who knows.

But yes fetish not family.

slashlover · 04/06/2026 12:28

And yet it's supposedly family friendly.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 04/06/2026 12:31

Are you local. If so did you not see the pictures and read the various SM posts about the amount of rubbish left at Marine Lake last week by a large number of teens who were fighting, and intimidating other people along the sea front and town centre. Very much less family friendly than that poster.

TheKittenswithMittens · 04/06/2026 12:35

I just checked the rail fare from Reading, I can't afford 42 quid

Do you mean this one? Isn't it a man in a jacket and a woman with her arms around him?

ComtesseDeSpair · 04/06/2026 12:38

I don’t see mastectomy scars tbh - the same lines are drawn on the abdomen and arms so I think they’re all supposed to represent a man with pecs / abs / biceps.

Pride is essentially an adult event. Some activities are family friendly, others are not, daytime events might be suitable for children, evening party events not so much. I presume most parents are capable of deciding whether or not it’s appropriate to take their children based on their own assessment.

Oh, the irony of telling other people to go to Specsavers when you're obviously as blind as a bat.
