To miss 2000s comedy, TV and music?!

I was scrolling through old videos of 2000s TV shows last night when I should have been asleep including Blind Date, The Office, Fat Families, Airline, old episodes of Eastenders and Coronation Street. It reminded me of how funny and lighthearted TV was, when people didn’t overthink jokes and it was all just received as humour.

Ditto the music, so much happy fast paced catchy pop around then. Feels like we’ve been stuck with sad or very gritty and quite dull sounding music forever (looking at you Billie Eilish).

Films just seem to virtue signal and lack the escapism they once had. Comedians just make jokes about Nigel Farage or Keir Starmer and while I can get on board with the point of it, it’s getting boring now. It feels like everything else is off limits to them.

I just want to laugh again! AIBU to wish we hadn’t sterilised humour and entertainment so much?

The weekend TV was such a guilty pleasure! I miss us all sitting round watching it! It was basically a whole family activity
