To ask you to watch this speech and wonder how, as mothers and a society, we can ensure this unspeakable, sickening stain on our history can never happen again. To anyone’s daughters.

This is today’s enquiry in Parliament which hears the hideous testimony of children who were trafficked and abused and raped by and like dogs.

I'd add more info. Most people aren't clicking on a random link.

You need to at least say what you are talking about

I have no idea and I can't even see a link.

Garlandedmantle · 01/06/2026 19:14

Sorry, hopefully clearer. We hear testimonies from some of the tens of thousands of victims of the rape gangs.

UK grooming gangs. Covered up, ignored and the girls who wre the victims blamed because anything is better than being accused of racist apparentely.

Dreadful, disgusting, children need protecting from vile men like those.

PurpleReindeer2 · 01/06/2026 19:43

Those poor girls were seriously let down. The professionals who were inept should be charged and sacked and the rapists deserve serious justice. Sadly neither is likely to happen as effectively as it should.

WilfredsPies · 01/06/2026 19:46

I don’t think it’s mothers who need to watch it. Women are largely aware of where the danger to women and girls comes from. You need to be showing the men you know and asking them to watch it.

Interesting. And hopeful.

Many mothers I know won’t discuss it because they are more afraid of being accused of being racist than acknowledging many of our cities are dangerous for innocent children.

I wouldn't believe that man Lowe if he told me the sun rose in the east in the morning.

I am deeply suspicious of every "fact" he mentions until I see it verified by a reliable source i.e. one not connected with the "Restore Britain Party" a bunch who make "Reform" look sane!

This is a major problem. Even the police victim blamed. They were children
The men were predominantly from Asian backgrounds. Fact not racism.

Interesting, isn’t? Whereas I think he’s the only sane and honourable voice on the political landscape.

Then our votes will differ!

I wonder how we both have such diametric views.

That’s how I feel about Starmer. He’s despicable.

What makes you think he’s sane and honourable?

Genuine question. I can’t see it at all but I don’t want to exist in an echo chamber so I’m always interested in hearing alternative views.

Ugh I am so bored of these carefully prepared (Aai assisted?) posts from right wing posters. Telling me I must believe something, be outraged about something, feel a certain way.

There was one telling us this morning that Henry Nowak was despised by the police specifically because he was white -with no evidence-when his own parents had appealed for people to keep race out of it. It feels so bossy, and worse, as though the site is being infiltrated deliberately by people whose main occupation is - infiltrating social media sites.

Yes that's just my opinion but there seem to be a lot of posters posing as "concerned mothers", who seem to have a lot more time to craft their posts to match right wing "talking points" than most actual mothers would have to spare.

Involved fathers also don’t need to watch it. I’m well aware of where the danger to my daughter comes from, I do everything I can to keep her away from the danger. I’m disgusted at how the system let down the victims of grooming gangs. But I’m not surprised. This country has gone to the dogs.
