UK grooming gangs. Covered up, ignored and the girls who wre the victims blamed because anything is better than being accused of racist apparentely.

Dreadful, disgusting, children need protecting from vile men like those.

Those poor girls were seriously let down. The professionals who were inept should be charged and sacked and the rapists deserve serious justice. Sadly neither is likely to happen as effectively as it should.

I don’t think it’s mothers who need to watch it. Women are largely aware of where the danger to women and girls comes from. You need to be showing the men you know and asking them to watch it.

Many mothers I know won’t discuss it because they are more afraid of being accused of being racist than acknowledging many of our cities are dangerous for innocent children.

Ugh I am so bored of these carefully prepared (Aai assisted?) posts from right wing posters. Telling me I must believe something, be outraged about something, feel a certain way.

There was one telling us this morning that Henry Nowak was despised by the police specifically because he was white -with no evidence-when his own parents had appealed for people to keep race out of it. It feels so bossy, and worse, as though the site is being infiltrated deliberately by people whose main occupation is - infiltrating social media sites.

Yes that's just my opinion but there seem to be a lot of posters posing as "concerned mothers", who seem to have a lot more time to craft their posts to match right wing "talking points" than most actual mothers would have to spare.

Involved fathers also don’t need to watch it. I’m well aware of where the danger to my daughter comes from, I do everything I can to keep her away from the danger. I’m disgusted at how the system let down the victims of grooming gangs. But I’m not surprised. This country has gone to the dogs.

Because he’s clearly intelligent and what the Irish call well rared. He’s articulate, informed and able to debate in a civilised way and I’ve never heard him
resort to personal invective or shit down a conversation because he didn’t like the answer.

I grew up near Telford and know personally one girl found in a hotel room naked with 4 Asian men at the age of 14, and another classmate raped in a park at the age of 13. This is 20 years ago.

More recently I’ve lived next door to a care home - guess what, barely teenage aged girls being collected by a car full of Asian men.

I believe every word Rupert has said in that speech.

Nothing has upset me more than mentioning this to a (left leaning) family member once and who then retorted ‘well it’s only usually girls in care’, as if that makes it ok. The girls I knew weren’t in care, and my heart weeps for any girl in the care system caught up in this.

In my view anyone who denies this is going on is part of the problem.

I know a woman who was a victim of grooming. When she speaks about it she very much emphasises that we need to remember that there are many victims of grooming gangs who are from ethnic minorities. Not because they are more important but because they tend to get ignored (she herself is white). She also speaks about the need not to avoid talking about white men who perpetrate sexual exploitation. Again not to cover up Asian men doing this but remind people this is a male violence problem. That’s not to deny there have been horrific issues, but if you listened to some of the right wing parties you would be hard pressed to think that this is the case
