AIBU to keep blinds closed in my flat? Privacy

I live in a block of flats. It’s an L shape and I live right in the corner. We have huge glass windows.

This means that my living room looks directly into my neighbours’ living rooms. Like I can see straight into their flat and they can see straight into mine.

I dislike having the windows open or even the blinds open because I hate the thought they can hear my conversations or see what I have on TV.

I didn’t think this would be an issue when I moved in, but our one neighbour is noise sensitive so I’m always on edge! She even knocks if the TV is on too loud, and we are honestly pretty quiet.

You can buy stick on frosting for your windows - it could be at half height to allow light but give privacy.

Just buy some privacy film, it’s £15 on Amazon

Regarding the noise, if your neighbour doesn’t like the sounds of people living nearby they should buy a detached property, otherwise they can deal with it.

You could always get that window privacy film that lets light in but you can't see in. As for noise, as long as your TV isn't excessively loud your neighbour can just deal with it, hearing everyday noise is part of living in a block of flats.

Frosting or nets (not like your nan had, more modern ones!)? We’ve had our blinds closed most of the weekend to keep the heat out and I couldn’t live like this permanently
