Hello,

So my ds started in reception class and has made good friends with another child in particular. Ive spoken to this child's mom just small chitchat in the playground. I suggested meeting up this half term and we agreed to make plans for tomorrow, she seemed keen.
I sent a text yesterday morning suggesting some places we could go, but I've had no reply. Text message has been delivered but not clicked on and read.
Ds is now disappointed as he though he was meeting up with his friend.

My thoughts are not to text again as I don't want to look needy, however its just strange how she seemed so keen 🤷‍♀️

She may be having a hectic time and will respond later tonight. I would not text her again.

I would just leave it tbh. Either she honestly hasn't seen the message or just isn't that interested in hanging out with someone she doesn't really know that well yet. Sorry your DC is disappointed - I also learned the hard way that it's usually best not to tell them about potential plans until they're finalised!

I wouldn’t text again either re tomorrow but I’d let it go on this occasion and not hold it against her if your child is really friendly with hers

I’d chase. Just ask if she’s still interested, and no worries if she’s now busy. Sometimes messages fall off your radar.

Family emergency
Household has come down with norovirus

Could be anything. I would give her the benefit of the doubt.

Just give her a call and say are we still on for tomorrow?
