Maternity leave and pension

My employer pays 8% pension contribution. When I went on maternity leave both times (8 years ago and 4 years ago) they only paid 8% of my statutory maternity pay rather than 8% of full salary - which I understand to be incorrect.

I raised it well over a year ago and they said they'd look in to it.

Assuming they have paid me incorrectly, am I reasonable to also push for the "growth" that would have happened had it been paid correctly at the right time?

Not really an AIBU but didn't know whether to put this on the money or work chats..!

It's a reasonable starting point although you may struggle to define how much growth has been missed.

The sooner they fix it though the less you will miss out on, so I would be all over them to sort it, a year of "looking into it" is a piss take.

So annoying this happens! I had this and pointed it out. My employer used Sage and it has a fault with the software that it suggests the figure to pay and it’s up to the company to spot it. Mine was rectified but no back payment to make up the interest lost.

Yeah my company use Sage too. Did you try to get the back payment or just let it go?
I agree that taking this long to rectify it is a piss take
