puts his quilt and pillows on the floor every night and goes to sleep there instead of in his nice comfy bed?

Aw no that’s quite cute. I used to make little ‘dens’ to sleep in in various corners of my room and my brother was once found in the top of his wardrobe with his quilt 😂

Saltandvinegarkrisps · 07/05/2026 20:58

Mine used to do this at 2-3yrs - then decided eventually to stay in their bed.

Wouldn’t worry at all about it.

StephenKingIsScaredOfMe · 07/05/2026 21:01

My son had a hand built cabin bed built, at his request, when he was 7. A week later he made a den under it and slept there until he was 15! It was very cosy!

mynameiscalypso · 07/05/2026 21:04

My son did it and my brother used to do it too. On that basis, I’ve assumed it was an entirely normal thing for small boys to do!

Nanof8 · 23/07/2026 21:15

My 6 year-old son does this. My son says it's cooler on the floor.

motherhoodisntfortheweak · 23/07/2026 21:17

I have a mattress on the floor too for my ds4

SausageMonkey2 · 23/07/2026 21:17

Nah. Leave him to it.

Sherararara · 23/07/2026 21:18

Shocking

Hankunamatata · 23/07/2026 21:37

Yep all my boys did this

AdjectiveColourNoun · 23/07/2026 21:39

What are you actually concerned about? My 9yo frequently sleeps on the landing and has done for years

REP22 · 23/07/2026 21:43

I used to do this! Like @JanBlues2026. Lined up my teds and made myself a little nest on the floor. I'm 51 now. The dog thinks I should revisit this era - he wants the good pillows. Not happening.

Nothing to worry about @Flower836385 x

Doingtheboxerbeat · 23/07/2026 21:45

I used to climb into my large chest of drawers with my blanket and I have no idea why.

CremeEggsForBreakfast · 23/07/2026 21:51

I remember my sister keeping me awake so I took my duvet and pillow and went to sleep on the floor outside my parents' room so I didn't wake them. I'm still not sure why they told me off and sent me back to my room.

My DH said he had a little cupboard above the stair box in his childhood bedroom and used to sleep in it.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/07/2026 12:01

DD used to do this. She grew out of it.
