UC review taking ages

Is anyone else having a universal credit review and it’s taking ages? Mine started in March,. They spoke to me in April but still haven’t spoke to my husband about his yet. Feels like it’s taking forever or is that normal in ppls experience?

These things take months, there is a huge backlog.

But why don’t they start a case then finish it rather than jumping from one person to another back and forth and dragging it out

Your payments continue as normal whilst the review is on going so it’s no big deal really

I guess so but it’s stressful not knowing when review will end

Strange they’ve not spoken to your husband yet; was he unable to attend an appointment sent out or have they just not sent one?

We have had 3 reviews (June 2023, April 2024 & September 2025 - in fact, I keep expecting to get notification of another one any time I see a message to check our journal!) and, every time, they’ve booked us both for the phone call one after the other on the same day with the same agent (different agents from different job centres across the U.K. for each review but same agent calling us both iyswim).

I would be putting a note on his journal under “payment” as that seems to get read more quickly that using “work coach” option or, if a message from the agent conducting the review has an option to reply to them, use that to ask when they’re going to book him in for his part of the review. They may have just forgotten to book his in so don’t realise they’ve left you guys hanging!!

Just put a note on journal now asking so hopefully that will hurry them up to either talk to my husband or close the case

UC have since arranged a phone appointment for my husband for Monday so posting on my journal was a good idea
