Please NEVER shop online with WilKo

Almost 3 weeks ago I placed a large order from Wilko. Since then nothing. Nor any communication communication. No delivery. Nobody to speak to. Nothing. Delivery date was now 14 days ago. Every delivery date since has been nothing. They haven’t attempted to deliver. No failed delivery notifications. No sign of them at the house. Nothing.

They do not have a working phone number with humans answering the phones. Only robots which hang up on you if it can’t work it out.

Shopping company say they do not have my items. Wilko dispatch notice says they do. Neither are communicating with me.

Research now shows that they have hundreds if not thousands of complaints for the same thing.

So AIBU to warn you to please do not make the mistake I’ve made and place an order with Wilko ever!

And please what would you do from here?

It's because it became marketplace for dropshippers. Same for b&q and few others.

It's disgraceful because they wash their hands of these orders

Speak to your credit card provider if you paid by cc

JengaCupboard · 06/05/2026 14:03

Contact your bank/your method of payment provider and see if they can refund you. I had similar with Debenhams online last Christmas. Sent some screenshots to Barclays and was refunded within a couple of days. Items never arrived.

Ask your bank for a charge back.

Although I didn't realise they had gone the same way as BnQ. I thought they were just an online extension of The Range, so good to know thanks.

WolfDaysOfMoon · 06/05/2026 14:06

I agree with the posters about getting your bank to do a chargeback if you can.

And thanks for the tip-off. Sounds crap for you.

Occasionally I order a Wilko item for collection from The Range, and that’s bad enough.

SpaceRaccoon · 06/05/2026 14:19

Thanks OP, I haven't used them but will definitely make a point of continuing that.
I agree you can do a chargeback - some companies will block you if you do but that doesn't sound like it would be an issue in this case!

I had dreadful trouble after ordering from B&Q and naively thinking that’s where it would come from. They delivered on the wrong day, so we were out, they delivered the wrong parcel with someone else’s name and address on it and they insisted I sent photos of every side of the package. I did eventually get the right thing, but I’d never buy from them again. Sounds like more and more are doing this. How disappointing.

The original Wilko went bust, so whoever is using the name is not Wilko as we used to know it.

Thanks everyone. I’m trying to get my money back from the bank. Hopefully it will be sorted in the end.

Customer service is an absolute disgrace for so many of the big companies now.

Wilko was bought by the company that own The Range after Wilko had gone into administration. It now exists primarily online with a few stores dotted about.
