AIBU to delay visiting a critically ill relative abroad?

A close & very elderly family member is in critical condition 7h flight away from us. I have a severe phobia of plane travel and a toddler who is absolutely Velcro to me. Shall I try toget Valium & fly Fri-Monday or shall I wait and see if they get better?

It depends how you would feel if the worst happens and you didnt go. Can you take the toddler with you? If not, I assume they will be well cared for at home. If it was me, I'd probably medicate and go.

If my very elderly relative was critically ill I would assume the worst and go.
