Why do you hang your washing outside when it always ends up smelling like damp?

Apart from the obvious cost savings compared to using a tumble dryer, I don’t understand why people hang their washing outside because no matter what I do, mine always ends up smelling damp and completely unpleasant!

I love the smell of line dried washing. It's definitely not a damp smell to me it smells fresh. I'm not keen on clothes that smell of fabric conditioner

I always put my washing outside on the washing line. And it NEVER smells of damp LOL!!! (I don't put it out when it's raining obviously.) I put it in the conservatory.

I don't understand people who dry EVERY last thing in the tumble dryer even if it's really warm and sunny. Absolutely batshit. Terrible for the environment, and must cost a fortune in electric. When you say that to people though, (about the electricity they must be spending,) they say 'oh but I have an energy efficient tumble dryer!' 😆 PMSL, OK then! That makes it OK to use it 12 times a week then! 😂
