AIBU that so many movies fall flat

So started Anora (oscar winning film) and failing to see what all the buzz was about. I could be wrong! And happy to hear why I am but are there any movies which really don’t meet your expectations after all the chat? Wuthering heights with Margot Robbie was also disappointing

i think some films just click with people and then like marmite you either love the film or its not so to speak

Have same feeling with lots of movies nowadays. So focus more on TV shows!

I think all of the attempts at passive brainwashing and social engineering through entertainment is exhausting and transparent. Because of this, along with subpar acting, recycled movies i.e. Marvel Pt 9,000, movies are just boring.

I've gone back to reading books and prefer historical novels written pre-2000.

Much more enjoyable, unique in storyline, engaging and keeps vocabulary and mind active.
