Worried about my health

Posting in AIBU for traffic

Why is my body suddenly rebelling against me? Is this normal? I'm probably menopausal but this seens weird. I recently turned 48 and have had few health issues until the last 6 months.

Had an incredibly busy and stressful end of the year with work and developed eczema on my neck in November/December. Has mostly disappeared with steroid cream but been very persistent and dr has prescribed anti-fungal as precaution. Also developed patches of eczema in elbow creases in last couple of weeks Never had it here before. In fact never really had eczema before having youngest DC (now 10).

Constantly exhausted - i used to run 5-8k 3x a week but just struggling to find the energy since end of last year to even do a single 5k in a week. Worrying as I signed up for a half marathon (in 6months) and have done no training

TMI: Have always had good gut health but last couple of weeks have been torture with my stomach cramping every few days, sulfur burps, feeling simultaneously like I want throw up or do a massive poo. Have been awake with cramps and fizzy stomach since 2am tonight snd need to work, take care of DC tomorrow and just dont know how im going to do it.

GP has prescribed me creams for rash but I feel so stupid going for the other stuff as they've fobbed me off before (admittedly 15 years ago and thst particular dr has left the practice)

Anyone have any advice please? Im lucky to never had health issues in the past so this is breaking me. Appreciate it's not much in the grand scheme and that many others have so much more and they just get through life

I'm in the same position, OP.

Things are going crazy with GI and insomnia off the charts.

Have you considered going to the GP and requesting gastro specialist? I have thought about it and stopped myself so many times from fear of not being taken seriously but I give you the advice I wish I would take for myself.

Please ring your surgery in the morning with 'the other stuff.' I think it needs checking out. Tell them all the symptoms including the sulphur burps. It's the one area I know about (I had my stomach and a few other bits removed and am permanently tube fed), and those symptoms need at least seeing by a GP. I'd also ask for a gastro referral.

Thank you - the gastro part is what worries me most as unusual for me. Was too late to book an appointment this morning so will try on Tuesday and hope it's not too bad over the weekend. It doesn't tend occur every day do hoping for some respite
