Are we very close to war?

There is an article today in the Guardian which says we are already at war - and that a modern war is different - cyber attacks, fuel shortages, misinformation and blackouts. It states that many of us do not recognise it yet as there are no bombs or bullets and we are now in a different era - already in or very close to the above. I think we are at a very dangerous point - in the UK and globally and historians will define this period as the start of modern warfare.

Who are we nearly at war with?

Brownbl · 29/04/2026 21:48

We are.
Next winter will crystallise it for many, the consequences of what is happening now.
It's deeply worrying.
I am praying/manifesting/ hoping for peace.
Sadly I am becoming more convinced that there is a bigger picture and this is just one of the plays.

I think in hindsight we will look behind us and see all sorts of things that linked together, yes.

I agree with PP that the concept of being at war has changed. I think there has been an information war going on for years - our attention spans have been manipulated by algorithms and this has undermined our faith in institutions, each other and the western world generally.

it’s pretty bleak.

I think we are 😕

I think its only a matter of time before things like power cuts and WiFi cuts happen - social media going down

fuel shortages now, money running out next

I reckon there will be a cyber attack on the govt so people wont recieve their benefits

Best to save up and stock up on essentials 🥺

Each other. Russia. The polarisation and breakdown in institutions is very worrying. People do not have trust in the Government or even their neighbours. Its very scary times.

We’ve probably been close to many wars for years. Canne be arsed to mother about it.

Either we’ll get nuked or not, there’s absolutely nothing the average person can do. Go outside and enjoy the sunshine in a beer garden.
