to let my DS play with a sheet hanging on the washing line - it will wash again FGS!

neighbour just popped over to borrow something

DS is in teh back yard having a great game with a sheet on the line - he's managed to fashion a pirate ship and is joyously hitting it with a dirty stick

Neighbour made a cats bum mouth and said "do you know what your DS is doing to your clean sheet?"

me - (annoying-tigger,me, remember) "yes"

She just raised an eyebrow - silly cow!

It will bloody wash again - its not something he usually does and he's having such a good time

Silly neighbour. Doesn't she know a happy peaceful child is much much more valuable than a clean sheet?

OverMyDeadBody · 20/06/2008 14:36

YANBU. Life's too short to stop kids having fun for the sake of keeping something clean.

Neighbor is a silly cow.

Silly mare

(the neighbour, not you)

bubblagirl · 20/06/2008 14:37

no i agree 1 sheet and child having fun equals success and ut will wash thats also my motto

some people are very precious about things like that but you would give a clean sheet to play with anyway then need to wash it so no difference

let him have fun it saves you from being needed for short while

ceebee74 · 20/06/2008 14:37

I wouldn't like to grow up in her house if that is her attitude. I have always thought that if something can be cleaned, fixed or put back to normal, then DS can do whatever he wants with it!!

ConnorTraceptive · 20/06/2008 14:38

Oh I know. I get so pissed off with DH when he huffs about me letting ds put mud in his ride on truck and it getting on the path.

Tis a bit of dirt, easily swept away - lighten up man!!!!

goingslowlymad · 20/06/2008 14:41

I would not be a happy person if one of my dear children decided to make a game out of my clean laundry. Yes, it can be washed again but that isn't the point. I'd be spitting feathers.

MamaG · 20/06/2008 14:42

Really going? But does it really matter, that one sheet will need to be chucked back in the machine?

Oh bless him - what an imagination!

I wouldn't mond either, but then dh and I difer on these kind of things.

Don't sweat the small stuff I say.

PrettyCandles · 20/06/2008 14:43

It's part of the joys of childhood, running through the laundry. Though as a mum I can appreciate that it's also a pain in the bum!

If it's not a problem for you then it's none of her business.

LoveMyGirls · 20/06/2008 14:45

I'd only be annoyed if i'd washed it ready to put back on the bed (we're poor, only have 1 set of bedding for our room so it has to be washed as quickly as possible to go back on the bed before we go to bed) otherwise totally agree with you, if i did need the sheet I'd find somethign else for him to use like a big towel or an old sheet with holes in
