Techie question sorry! Photo storage options

Firstly apologies for posting this in AIBU.... didn't know where was best. Its a boring techie question sorry but I figured / hoped you lovely lot might be able to help me out.

I have a Samsung S24 and have maxed out the storage space. My videos/photos are organised into relevant folders for work purposes and I need to free up space.

What do you fellow samsung users use for this?

Cloud systems that ive seen so far dont really seem to support a folder/album format and I dont want to upload 1000s of photos to have to reorganise them into relevant albums all over again.

I want to be able to pick a folder and upload it somewhere where I can easily access it (phone and laptop) and then remove it from my phone.
I dont want a sync system back/to from phone (like Google photos) as I also want to be able to leave selected albums on my phone and the "free up space" facility in Google folders will remove it all from my phone (I think?)

I'm not especially tech savvy (if you've not already guessed that) so any help/advice/tips would be really welcome. Thanks ☺️

It's really annoying the cloud systems don't really support folders. In your situation I'd just get a physical external hard drive.

I just upload them to onedrive.

Following this because I’ve had the same thought. It seems like the choice is either “sync everything to the cloud forever” or “manually copy things somewhere and hope for the best”, which isn’t ideal either.

What I’d really want is something simple where you can move specific folders off your phone, still get to them later on phone/laptop, and not worry that deleting them on your phone will delete them everywhere else.

Interested to hear what people actually use in real life.

Get an external hard drive just plug in and you can have a huge storage capacity and it's just another option in windows explorer, so nothing complicated. Just realised you have to get it all off a phone.

AI says you should be able to connect your phone to a pc or flash drive and drag and drop folders directly, there seemed to be fairly simple instructions how to do it.
