Pending bank charge

I paid at the pump for petrol at a Tesco filling station on Tuesday morning. I saw the sign about a £120 hold being put on my account which I understand. However, they took the actual cost of the petrol (£20) yesterday but are still holding £100 back. Is this a long time to have to wait? I’ve never had such a delay before and I don’t know if I should contact Tesco or my bank.

When you pay at pump It’s usual for them to put a hold amount to make sure that you have funds to pay however I’ve never had it take that long to be released usually mine is instantaneous with Monzo

It happens if you pay at pump, if you go into the kiosk to pay they don’t do it.

It can take up to 5 days to be releashed from the pending. Bank or tesco cant speed ut up

I had this with Starling (it was a payment to the coop). They agreed to refund the money if the coop confirmed they weren't going to take it. They did, but with insufficient detail for Starling. Turns out legally they must not hold it for more than 30 days, which I pointed out on day 31 and got the money back in seconds. So you will get it back but it may take a while, which isn't OK.

I’m not disputing the hold at all - all pay at pump facilities do this - but it’s always been removed almost instantly. I don’t know why it’s still pending when they’ve taken the actual cost out.

This happened to me at Asda it took 28days to get it back i was so angry
