Hand foot and mouth help -startling

Hello has anyones little one had hfmd and startled. Not sure if my 3 year old is thrashing with the pain which is common and waking or startling. Currently up staring at the baby monitor. Aibu and panicking

My question is how often was the startling? Was it a massive jump or more like moving to get comfortable? I hadn't realised the serious side effects and now I'm spiralling but also don't want to wake DC up for no reason.
