What have M&S done to the Sparks card?

Now you can’t ever get 20% but have to buy things to ramp up rewards which are in £ but only when you buy the from the category they send you.
you then have to convert it so that you can actually spend it.
i get the way it works but psychologically I would be buying more if I had 20% off a category or just in general as you get the reward right there and then.

How do you get blue light on marks? Is this new ?

Blue light app, you purchase a “shopping card” for the amount you need (basically a gift card), but you pay a % less

They now use AI for personalised offers. That’s probably why it now sucks

I religiously scan my Sparks card but I honestly couldn't tell you what the benefit are as to my mind there don't seem to be any. You don't earn points to turn into vouchers and there are no discounts. Just what is the point of it?

I’ve had it with M&S too. I do have an M&S credit card but now only use it for emergencies. Before I used to put all my day to day spending through it to get the vouchers, but the local M&S in our town has closed and I refuse to travel 15 miles to the nearest one now. If they don’t sort themselves out and recommend guns who their main customer base is, they’ll be going the same way as Woolworths and BHs.

That’s exactly what they’ve changed to, you look at the offers and earn money to spend in store.

One of my rewards is for £3 off kids' footwear.

I have 2 sons in their twenties and have not bought childrenswear there for years 🤔

I noticed the offers aren’t as good now . It seems now they have our data and buying habits they are changing the goal posts . TK Maxx is another company who is doing the same with their treasures card . They used to give away freebies but now all they do is give you entries to competitions to win things . They are all at it . You can’t even buy normal shopping without a loyalty card now as they inflate the prices so you have to use the loyalty card to get it at a normal price .

Stupid. I've got £40 reward for spending £200, I've never spent £200 in a short space of time at m&s or anywhere really, my purchasing is spread out over months. Disappointing.

Quite easy to do, go and do a big shop!

Nearly every time I got a 20% I'd order something (no clothes or home wares near me now).

Spend £140 in a short time for some reward in the future, just not happening.

The app is a total mess. All over the place and makes no sense.
I can get a £1.00 in my wallet (?) if I spend £8.00 on breaded fish. I have never bought breaded fish and no intention to do so!

I want to earn points on all my spending like every other loyalty card in the world not on random crap I'd never actually buy.

I actually end up in marks and Spencer most days as it's most convenient for when im at work I won't be scanning mine anymore the offers are rubbish so they won't be getting my data.

But you can spend the rewards on whatever you want. People just love to complain these days

Instead of amassing points every time you shop, like you do with Nectar, Boots etc, you only gather points that they've specified. It's actually put me off. I want to get some chinos and a vest, but it will be really annoying to buy them now, then get an offer next time, that I could have used.

Yes, but they charge for delivery. And I just find I can get better styles from other easier to buy from stores, including online.
