No weird cut-outs in unexpected places
Neither satin nor grimly matt
Not asymmetrical
Not white (who can wear white)
Not shirred
Normal sleeves (wtf with all the Wizard and Tudor court puff ones)
Not maxi or mini
Not with a neckline at my navel
Not £1,500

Cmon there must be something out there bloody clothes shops

Cos on Vinted?

I find cos one of those places that is clearly very stylish but looks awful on anyone who isn't a model

You'd need to stand around looking angular all the time

I bought the perfect one from vinted recently...it's actually Dorothy Perkins....black, v neck, normal sleeves, black, fitted but not like a sausage skin. Just above the knee. I agree with what you're saying...

Ralph Lauren?

LordofMisrule1 · 20/04/2026 14:07

I get most of mine from Nobody's Child. Really good quality, affordable enough.

Hobbs, usually. Though they don’t seem to have as much stuff this season as previously. M&S pretty decent too.

Ah, well that's me told! (I'm certainly not a model and I don't stand round looking angular, but I do have some workhorse dresses from Cos).

Have a look at the pretty dress company - have lots of great work dresses, machine washable, sleeves, the lot.

This is when I long for Monsoon in the 1990s, Anokhi, East and Ouiset... I now feel very old, indeed.
