9th birthday present ideas please!

Please help, I have no idea what to buy my daughter for her 9th birthday!
She already has a bike, scooter, rollerskates, an Amazon kindle fire. Has tons of art stuff and books.
Several of her classmates are apparently into “skincare from Sephora” which I think is nuts at 9 so not going to be encouraging that.
Any ideas would be really appreciated! Thankyou!

what are her interests? that might help narrow it down

ToKittyornottoKitty · 18/04/2026 21:17

What does she like? Has she actually asked for skincare? Is she sporty? Does she still play with toys?

Londonrach1 · 18/04/2026 21:20

What her interests. I've a child same age and none of her friends into skincare... My daughter and her friends are still into toys and books at the moment. Skincare at 9 seems very strange but each time their own. Would she like a trip to a theme park with you and family or my daughter s favourite idea .. cinema to see the the magic faraway tree and pizza with friends...

She likes dancing, gymnastics, swimming, big film fan loves going to the cinema and theatre, bowling, reading, getting more interested in fashion now, loves going for hot chocolates 😂
no she hasn’t asked for skincare but I keep hearing mention of girls in her class discussing the products they use 👀

What about an experience. My DS went gliding for his 10th birthday.

Helpaladyoutplease · 18/04/2026 21:40

My 9 year old wants a radio and go ape experience!

Hits with my dc at that age were a skateboard and ramp, posca pens and a young zookeeper experience.

Stuff to make their bedroom a bit more teen feeling was also good - a beanbag and a mini fridge were well received.

Curlysusie · 18/04/2026 22:33

Pandora charm bracelet?

fightingdragons · 18/04/2026 22:37

My daughter is turning 9 next week, she had asked for a boy Our Generation doll (she has lots of girl ones already), Clickeez, a pizza Jellycat, Sticki rolls, a Lush lip scrub, some new loom bands and some Dork Diaries books

Hidingfromyou · 18/04/2026 22:38

My similar age daughter is obsessed with Jellycats

So we got our son a 3d printer for his 9th birthday. It was costly about £400 but you can get cheaper ones.

Honestly it is amazing, he has printed dozens of toys himself, plus things like book marks and pen holders. He has started using CAS on my husbands laptop to design little toys himself where he can’t find a downloadable file too. It’s worth every penny.

An experience, like a theatre show since she likes theatre? Followed by a meal?

My 9 year old had this for Xmas, she loves it.

She loves taking pictures of her special days and scrapbooking! Genuinely best present ever!

A tumble track for the garden or even in the house for gymnastics. Or a folding Ikea mat and a new leotard.

A Jellycat set of marshmallows or the hot chocolate one and a Costa or Starbucks card.

Hot chocolate set with mini marshmallows, nice mug, different flavoured sachets or pots of hot chocolate bundled up nicely.

Tickets to a show she’d like or a cinema voucher made up with popcorn holders and treats to bulk out the voucher

A new dance or swim bag

An owala bottle for dancing?

BarbiesDreamHome · 18/04/2026 22:52

Buy her a new book to open and vouchers for a coffee place and a book shop. Then take her for a day out. Start with pancakes for breakfast and off to spend the vouchers and clothes shopping. H&M & M&S have good inexpensive t shirts for summer. Waterstones for a book.

Leotard for gymnastics and some sort of hair braiding or colouring kit. And lipbalm. All girls that age love lipbalm.

HaveCreditWillShop · 18/04/2026 22:55

Horse riding lesson, summer wardrobe, tennis racket and balls, new trainers?

Calliopespa · 19/04/2026 01:03

Paddington in the West End! We took our dc and they loved it - even the one who thought it would not be so great!
