Airlines cancelling flights

Will airlines be allowed to cancel flight bookings and re sell at higher prices?
My neighbour says Jet 2 have done this to her. Is it due to higher fuel costs?

Are you saying somethings do beat a Jet2 holiday?

I was just asking because we have flights booked for June. Not sure we could afford a higher price now.
Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Most jet 2 customers are package bookings so they wouldn’t be able to do this due to the rules. I suspect airlines will be amalgamating flights so they do not have excess capacity, this could mean a Manchester flight is combined with a Liverpool flight for instance - Simon Caulder explains it better in an article today
