Genuine question…how do you feel about the bbc…

YABU: BBC generally provides independent reporting, presenting facts from multiple sides so audiences can form their own opinions.

YANBU:
BBC is often one-sided and pushes its own perspective or agenda on issues.

Your dismissive "men!" is a lazy cliche. Anyway, I'm not looking for a row. Enjoy your weekend.

I would like the BBC to fulfil its promise to inform and entertain. It informs, but whether that is biased information is up for debate. As for entertainment, I think it caters to a mass market of those who enjoy sport, quiz shows and ‘comedy’

Five hours of football on BBC 1 and two hours of boxing on BBC 2 is unnecessary and excludes many. They will broadcast what has gains for the corporation and are not interested in the numbers of people who don’t wish to watch wall to wall sport or dumbed down trash TV.

I wish people would stop with this "left and right both complain, so they must be getting it about right" thing. It's total nonsense.

The BBC's ridiculous notion of "impartiality" means challenging absolutely nothing, even when politicians are gibbering utter nonsense and telling bare-faced lies. The BBC will not call this out for fear of being accused of bias, which means they are nothing more than a platform for misinformation from all sides, which is why they are almost universally reviled.

It's not an indicator of fairness, it's a total and utter failure.

It's more the "balance" that did for the BBC.

Having to invite a flat earther onto a programme about space "because it's a valid view" isn't how you do balance. Never was. And never will be.

F1rstDoNoHarm · 11/04/2026 17:56

BBC is complicit in causing harm to children and young people by presenting gender ideology as fact, and implying that gender affirming care is evidence based. Biased doesn't scratch the surface.

NotTerfNorCis · 07/05/2026 12:28

I'm wondering if the BBC has become more right-wing recently. They've done two stories - one about Kurdish criminals terrorising trading standards staff, the other about asylum seekers pretending to be gay to get asylum, and they both stood out to me as the kind of thing the BBC wouldn't have shown not long ago. Has anyone else picked up on that?

YABU

I think on the whole it’s balanced and reasonable.

Its telling that the right think it’s too left wing and too woke and the left think it’s too right wing and small-c conservative.

See, I don’t think it’s necessarily too right or left wing but I do think it decides what is the “right” side of any argument and then pushes that no matter what, which is just another way of being biased.
