Programmes that have aged poorly and programmes that have aged well?

What programmes that you loved have surprised you on rewatching?

I've just finished the first series of This Life and was surprised at how well it has aged for the most part (but so much smoking!). It was refreshing to see people with imperfect teeth and pubic hair and wobbly bums living in a grotty house share past their early 20s. I'm re-living my youth with the music too.

But Coupling! Oof! I remember it being really good but some clips I've seen (like making sex videos without consent and the way women are talked about) demonstrate exactly why I've never seen any re-runs.

I loved West Wing and all the quick "banter", but have hesitated to rematch as I suspected it would have aged badly. It hasn't, not at all. It must have been way ahead of it's time.

The Not the Nine O’clock News toilet sketch with Rowan was hilarious to me as a kid and still is now.

I watched a bit of Terry and June this week, some of the language is definitely from a different era but it is still very funny!

I remember watching The Goodies in the 70s as a child (yes I'm that old!) and thinking it was absolutely hilarious, possibly the funniest thing I'd ever seen.

I caught an episode recently - what a load of shit. I wasn't even tempted to smile, far less laugh.

As if the show wasn't a big enough pile of rubbish they had to release records as well 🙄

It was 'Black Pudding Bertha', I was very fond of The Goodies in my youth.

All I can actually remember are the Goodies riding around on a tandem for 3 and something about a giant kitten climbing up the Post Office tower 😉
