Why don't bidders on Vinted follow through?

Getting very tired of people making offers which I accept and then not purchasing.

I would never put in an offer unless I was going to buy. AIBU?

Yep same. Listed a whole loads of stuff and I've had loads of offers..no follow through on any of them. So annoying. I never offer unless I want to buy.

I will sometimes put offers in on a couple of things and buy whichever one accepts first.

and just as annoying- those that don’t bother to collect their parcel and it gets sent back. I know they still get charged the postage, but I have gone to the trouble of packing it and sending it- this has happened twice to me in the last two weeks (non collection of parcel) and several times before that. Why bother in the first place if you can’t be bothered to collect the parcel? I don’t understand the thinking behind this. I know sometimes emergencies crop up but it seems to be a semi-regular occurrence.

Maybe better to think of them as hagglers rather than " bidders" ?

I put offers on multiple items then choose to buy the best option thay accepts my offer. It's a buyer's market!

Pinkflamingo10 · 03/04/2026 13:38

It’s how Vinted as a platform works. you’re not obliged to buy if your offer has been accepted.
i wouldn’t take offence.

This, I do a few and whoever accepts first or whichever is cheapest I go for

It isn't just this as it happens to me too (as a seller) quite often, when the item I'm selling is pretty niche and I know it's the only one on Vinted at that time.

BeaTwix · 03/04/2026 13:46

I'm so sick of the bidding culture. I list a price. I want the price.

I know I need to change my mindset and start listing two quid higher so I can give people the illusion of a "bargain" but it's so ridiculous.

Not the same but still annoying, twice recently I have bought an item and the seller not sent , although I received a refund no problem still very frustrating
